LEDs, Copper wire, electronic components, measured heartbeat.
Installation, CONFLUX, The Electrician's Shop, Trinity Buoy Wharf. July 2015.
[Im]Pulse is an expanded electrical circuit of LEDs and copper nets that counts the maker's heartbeat. This heartbeat is projected through the system and visualised in LEDs as a representative mapping of a singular process, a systematic digital visualisation of analogue experience. This rhythm behaves as an unpredictable and organic loop achieved through the combination of two disparate programmes - a phase up/down and heartbeat count measured from the process of making the fishing nets. The copper nets are incorporated into the circuit and become part of the electrical connection through which the lights are powered, accumulating the work in one singular 'body'.
